Volevatch® Collection

Birds of Paradise

This collection was created as a ‘special order’ for a Volevatch client. The request was for faucets ‘in the style’ of Armand-Albert Rateau, the famous decorator from the 1920s. One of principal achievements of this colorful personality in the Art Deco movement was the creation of interior decoration for Jeanne Lanvin, at the time a key figure in haute-couture. Igor Volevatch therefore designed a full collection of faucets and accessories, called ‘Oiseaux de Paradis’. This range reinterprets and adapts the iconic ornaments of Jeanne Lanvin’s bathroom, designed by Armand-Albert Rateau, for today’s needs. For the decoration the tone is set by references to nature with priority given to floral and animal motifs, embodying a universe halfway between paradise lost and a deserted island.
