Care & Cleaning
The lustrous finish on your Volevatch® fittings, Volevatch®
accessories, Volevatch® fixtures or Volevatch® shower enclosures
should be treated with care as it is a living finish, meaning it will
evolve over time.
Most finishes will age gracefully and develop a unique patina
depending on the climate, exposure, handling, cleaning, and
waxing routine that is established.
For best results, please remember the following General Cleaning
Guidelines:
Wash surfaces gently with a soft damp cloth; use a neutral liquid
soap such as Savon de Marseille with water for daily cleaning.
Rinse completely with water, dry any overspray. Never use an
abrasive material such as a brush or scouring pad to clean
surface. The use of abrasive cleaners, cleansers or disinfectants
will alter the surface finish and void the warranty.
Note that prolonged contact with certain items such as toothpaste,
air freshener, cologne, shaving cream, nail polish remover, vinegar
lemon and wines will also alter all surface finishes and void the
warranty.
Caracteristiques and care of
living finishes
CHROME (V03), POLISHED NICKEL (V02)
Follow the general cleaning guidelines. Clean as often as necessary
with the white stone. If you desire additional protection, the use of
the anti-calcium spray cleaner will aid in cleaning and protecting
the surface by leaving a protective coating that will repel water.
MATTE NICKEL (V04)
This durable finish will not change if the general cleaning
guidelines are followed and the suggested bi-annual wax routine
is performed. If you desire additional protection, the use of the
anti-calcium spray cleaner will aid in cleaning and protecting the
surface by leaving a protective coating that will repel water.
These finishes are more susceptible to wear caused by cleaning
agents. Volevatch recommends cleaning only with a damp cloth,
with no soap or other cleaning agent. The use of cleaning agents
or polishing agents will damage the finish and void the warranty.
LUXBRASS (V12), DARK BRONZE PATINA (V10), CONCORDIA
(V11)
These finishes tend to show subtle wear by revealing the bronze
undertones in the areas of use. Follow the general cleaning
guidelines for these finishes and the suggested bi-annual wax
routine. These finishes will age or patina with exposure, climate,
and handling. The use of polishing agents will remove the patina
and restore the metal to its original shine.
Once removed, the patina will naturally redevelop with time and
use.
Follow the general cleaning guidelines for these finishes and the
suggested bi-annual wax routine. The use of polishing agents will
remove the antique finish and void the warranty.
UNLACQUERED BRASS (V01)
This finish will age or patina with exposure, climate, and handling.
It is sensitive to air, humidity and calcium. Calcium spots may be
removed using a vinegar-based solution keeping an eye on the
action of the vinegar which removes the calcium but also oxidizes
the brass. Rinse abundantly. The original shine can be restored
using Mirror® or an appropriate polishing compound.
SHINY COPPER (V07)
This finish will age or patina with exposure, climate, and handling.
It is sensitive to air, humidity and calcium. The original shine can
be restored using Mirror® or an appropriate polishing compound.
SILVER (V13)
These finishes will age or patina with exposure, climate, and
handling. They are sensitive to air, humidity and calcium. The
original shine can be restored using Argentil® or an appropriate
polishing compound.
MATTE SILVER (V14)
This durable finish will not change if the general cleaning
guidelines are followed and the suggested bi-annual wax routine
is performed. If you desire additional protection, the use of the
anti-calcium spray cleaner will aid in cleaning and protecting the
surface by leaving a protective coating that will repel water.
Wood Finish
All wooden lever handles should be maintained with a soft damp
cloth. Dust frequently with a soft cloth in the direction of the grain.
Use only the Volevatch cleaner, a nourishing oil that will protect
and nourish the finish.
